The Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University is a main Russian technical university situated in Saint Petersburg, Russia.  The University  Established in the year 1899. (February 19, 1899 by government regulation it was decided to found the Polytechnical Institute in St.Petersburg. The grand opening of the institution took place on October 2, 1902.) It is the most advanced engineering school in Russia.

In the 2010 University was awarded the status "National Research University".
